  • We are looking for a team of fun, active, and caring people who are willing to be creative, energetic, responsible, and patient as they lead by example. Staff are at least 19 years of age or rising college sophomore, with a strong interest in working with children.
  • Male counselors live in a cabin with 5 to 7 boys, ages 7-16. Female staff have additional duties in lieu of cabin coverage. We act not only as teachers, but as friends, role models, and at times parents.
  • Counselors instruct one or more areas: Rock Climbing; Horseback Riding; Hiking; Mountain Biking; Canoeing and Kayaking; Fishing; Pottery; Swimming; Sailing; Riflery and Archery; Crafts; Tennis; Basketball; Soccer; Childcare; High Ropes Course.
  • May 30 - August 10, 2019. Training dates in May. Green River Preserve

  • Work as a leader and role model for gifted and motivated 2nd through 9th grade children. Provide a caring cabin atmosphere for 7 campers.
  • Teach a wide range of camp activities including fly-fishing, canoeing, fencing, rock climbing, painting, outdoor cooking, pottery, etc. Assist professional naturalists in morning hikes to waterfalls, mountain overlooks, through streams, and other adventures.
  • Must be at least 18 years old with at least one year of college experience. Must be mature, and willing to be nurturing and instructive to children as well as respectful of all.
  • Starting salary is $210 per week plus room, board, and laundry service. Additional pay for training in camp related fields such as wilderness medical training, lifeguarding, N.C. commercial driver's license, etc. Internships also available- please see website.

  • We look for staff who have completed at least one year of college, who are of high moral character, who love working with children, have a positive attitude, lots of energy and willingness to be a role model to young girls.
  • Counselors teach up to four activity periods daily and live in cabins with the campers. Activities include archery, arts and crafts, canoeing and kayaking, ceramics, chorus, climbing, dance, drama, backpacking, caving, fly-fishing, landsports, nature, photography, riding, sailing, swimming, stained glass, tennis, tumbling, weaving, and woodworking.
  • Salary is based on age and experience and includes room, board, and laundry.
